The recent release of Apple’s latest operating system OS X Yosemite has been met with a mixture of excitement and disappointment.
The free update includes a raft of new features and changes to most of the existing functions such as FaceTime, Family Sharing, Handoff, Notification Centre and Text input. All are no doubt welcome to existing users, but there were some unwelcome surprises too.
Wireless communications (WiFi and Bluetooth) seem to be the biggest problems, although IMAP email issues seem to come a close second, (we’ve already dealt with a couple of clients having IMAP issues where Yosemite is trying to be too clever).
Notification Centre, Spotlight, Safari and Handoff all suffer issues too, and some users have Performance and Graphics issues.
There are plenty of sites out there offering fixes for the each of the individual issues if you have already upgraded….
…. but our advice if you haven’t upgraded is to wait for Yosemite 10.20 as that is likely to deal with the issues in one go.
