Apple iOS8 will be released today, 17th September, probably at 6pm BST.
It will be compatible with most modern iPads and iPhones, however, earlier models such as iPhone 4 and iPad 1, will not upgrade.
However it is our recommendation not to upgrade today, previous major upgrades have introduced problems into the software unforeseen by Apple developers , such as poor battery life or Wi-Fi connectivity problems. Best to let the geeks try it out and report problems to the forum sites before you upgrade next week. (We’ll post any major flaws / fixes here too)
There are two ways to update your iDevice with iOS 8. The first one is over-the-air (OTA) method which requires you to check for software update by going to Settings > General > Software Update. The second method is all about hooking up your iDevice to the computer and accessing the iOS 8 download through iTunes.
